Using the power of appraisal to discern the value held by jewels.
Kishun’s members appraise second-hand jewels purchased from “urban mines.” We use the appraisal expertise which we have accumulated over many years to determine the “appropriate sales channel” that will maximize the value of jewels.
Using appraisal to determine how to increase the value of jewels.
Appraisal ability for finding over 10 million yen of value in jewels that were previously thought to be worthless
In one case, we used our appraisal skills to discover that a second-hand jewel, which our customer viewed as essentially worthless, was actually worth approximately over 10 million yen. This is a prime example of fulfilling our mission to maximize the value of jewels. Kishun has a record of many other similar cases.
Kishun’s staff features many of Japan’s leading appraisers
We have many veteran appraisers on staff who hold international appraisal qualifications such as FGA and GG. While many of our competitors outsource their appraisals, our in-house appraisal function is a strength of Kishun. Also, many of our members possess knowledge of purchasing and sales. This enables us to provide credible appraisals that consider the supply chain.
Unique in-house training to improve the level of our appraisal
Kishun has developed our own in-house training program under the supervision of the Nichibei Gem Appraisal. We provide a hierarchy of individualized training for different levels. In this way, we increase the value that can be found in jewels by improving our knowledge of jewels and appraisal techniques as an organization.
We possess in-house appraisal equipment that is among the best in Japan
Kishun owns advanced appraisal equipment that very few other companies possess; for example, an FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer) that can determine the value of jewels with high precision. By using the best appraisal equipment in Japan, we are able to maximize the value of jewels.
