Use our unique business model to eliminate human rights violations and environmental problems.
Africa is one of the main producers of jewels. The continent faces a multitude of human rights violations and environmental issues, including forced labor in dangerous mining sites, exploitation for profit, and CO2 emissions from mining. Kishun’s unique business model of sourcing jewels from urban mines is making a difference in this unfortunate situation.
Effective use of mineral resources by sourcing jewels from urban mines
Instead of jewels extracted from dangerous mining sites or through forced labor, we source second-hand jewels from urban mines. We then increase their value through processing and 3D CAD design before selling the jewels. This business model leads to the effective use of mineral resources, such as reducing waste jewels and mining volume.
Create new jobs
Unique business development
Adding value to second-hand jewels that were previously viewed as worthless. Kishun is expanding this business by developing new markets. In the process, we are creating new jobs. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce and eradicate forced labor in Africa and other regions that produce jewels.
High-quality education system that creates job satisfaction.
Kishun has our own Appraisal Institute and Jewelry Factory. We have created a unique educational curriculum for learning skills such as jewel appraisal and polishing. This allows our members to acquire specialized knowledge and skills. As a result, our members are able to perform their work with a sense of fulfillment.
Internal project
Re:D!al (Redial)
What is sustainability? What can Kishun do? In order to become a company that contributes to creating a sustainable society, Kishun is currently advancing a project aimed at deepening our understanding of sustainability and incorporating sustainability into our actual initiatives. The name “Re:D!al” is made up of the following elements: “Re” means rebirth, “Dia(l)” means diamond, and “Redial” means sending it back out into the world again.
Establishing ethical jewelry as a common practice in the industry
Kishun values the concept of “ethical jewelry,” which refers to jewelry that is considerate of people, society, and the environment. Going forward, our goal is to instill this concept as a common practice not just within our company but across the entire industry. We will continue to strive to create a sustainable world by creating a society in which it is common practice to utilize second-hand jewelry that is free from human rights violations and environmental problems.
